The Microbiology Major at UW offers world class training in basic science. The Department of Microbiology offers a Bachelor’s of Science degree, as well as a minor in Microbiology.
The study of Microbiology is important to our everyday world. Microorganisms affect human, animal, and environmental health. Microbiological study in agriculture, industry, and medicine have led to anti-viral medications and antibiotics, use in industries related to food and beverage production, amongst other fascinating discoveries and uses.
