  • UCIRO The University Complaint Investigation and Resolution Office (UCIRO) investigates complaints that a University employee has violated the University’s non-discrimination and/or non-retaliation policies.
  •  Office of the ADA Coordinator consults and assists members of the University of Washington community with concerns or inquiries regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act
  • Title IX Investigation Office responsible for investigating complaints that a University student engaged in conduct that violates any of the sexual misconduct provisions of the Student Conduct Code, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, indecent exposure, relationship violence, stalking, and domestic violence.
  • The UW Resilience Lab Well-Being for Life and Learning Guidebook a new resource for instructors to aid them in designing learning environments that promote well-being. Combining research, best practices, and personal testimony, the guidebook gives faculty and other instructors concrete ideas and direct input from the UW campus community around supporting the whole student and promoting resilience and compassion.

Graduate School Student Resources

  • UW Graduate School’s Diversity and Inclusion Provides weekly updated information about the Graduate School’s diversity efforts.
  • GSEE Graduate Student Equity & Excellence provides leadership and advocacy to achieve equitable representation, access and success for graduate students of color at the University of Washington.
  • GPSS Diversity Funding Funds for Registered Student Organizations and Departments working on diversity at the UW Campus.
  • The AISC: a University of Washington Inter-Tribal organization which exists to promote Native culture, education and Native students’ interests, needs and welfare.
  • Black Student Commission: provides students of Black/African heritage with a cohesive community at the University of Washington, while creating and maintaining a positive environment with resources for the students to achieve academic success.
  • La Raza: promotes the empowerment of and education about the diverse intersecting identities within the Latinx/Chicanx community at UW. La Raza’s constituent organizations are UW Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) that work toward the empowerment of Latinx & Chicanx communities.
  • SARJE: Scientists Advocating for Representation, Justice and Equity is a UW Student RSO with the mission to “engage our local scientific community in the work of promoting racial and social justice to improve outcomes for people of color, women, and other marginalized people in science and promote a diverse future for our field.”

Courses, Programs, and Educational Opportunities

  • Disability Studies at the University of Washington Undergrad minor. Language, research, policy supporting disability community.
  • College of Arts & Sciences Diversity Minor Offers courses on Diversity Minor and provides links to resources on different aspects of diversity to strengthen students understanding of how race, class, gender, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexuality, religion and age interact to define identities and social relationships.
  • *McNair Program Prepares first generation college student and undergraduates from under-represented groups for doctoral study through involvement in research and scholarly activities.
  • *UW Banks Center for Educational Justice College of Education.  Research on race/diversity. Events & programs on diversity and equity.
  • *Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center Coordinates and develops minority educational programs on navigating the University and its resources.

Campus Resource Centers for Equity and Inclusion

  • Women’s Center Promotes gender equity and social justice on campus and in the larger community.
  • The CCDE (Center for Communication, Difference, and Equity)  strives to be a space where our community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni gather to promote greater equity. Through research collaborations, networking opportunities, action-oriented classes, mentorship programs, and community events we engage in dialogue to think critically about race and its intersections, to interrupt privilege, and ultimately to change the structures of power around us.
  • Q Center Facilitates a “brave, affirming, liberatory, and celebratory environment for students, faculty, staff, and alumni of all sexual and gender orientation, identities, and expressions.”
  • *UW D Center Resources and support for disabled and deaf students. Interpreter requests, events.
  • Latino Center for Health Provides leadership for community-engaged research to promote impactful improvements in the health and well-being of Latinx communities.
  • *Student Parents Resource Center Resources and financial support for student-parents, child care services.
  • Disability Resources for Students Disability Resources for Students (DRS) recognizes disability as an aspect of diversity that is integral to society and to our campus community. DRS serves as a partner in fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for all University of Washington students.
  • Diversity Research Institute The UW Diversity Research Institute (DRI), focuses on generating new, interdisciplinary knowledge about diversity, social justice, and institutional transformation.
  • Student Veteran Life Office helps to represent the unique position and needs of our veteran students and constituents.
  • International Student Services Office Advising on visa and immigration, academics, housing, taxes and general student life for international students, funding support for International Students.
  • Indigenous Wellness Research Institute National Center of Excellence
  • Native Life and Tribal Relations Seeks to centralize the Native-focused resources available on the University of Washington’s campus in Seattle.
  • UW Dream Project Leadership/educational support for high school students. Engages undergrads, page includes teaching resources.
  • *Center for Experiential Learning and Diversity Programs Supports undergrad education. Funding opportunities, resources and events.
  • UW Campus Food Pantry: No Husky Goes Hungry
  • UW MolES - Molecular Engineering and Sciences Institute: Experiences of Black STEM in the Ivory: A Call to Disruptive Action This two-day event brought together students, staff, faculty and leadership from five different academic institutions across the country to share their unique perspectives on the current barriers facing Black scholars in STEM fields with the goal of inspiring and challenging participants to take action to address racial inequities in STEM and their sessions from day one and two have been published on the UW MolES site.
  • The UW ADVANCE Center for Institutional Change a campus and national resource for best practices in academic leadership development, cultural change and policy transformation, and increasing the advancement and number of women faculty in STEM fields.

UW Mental Health and Counseling Resources

  • Husky Health and Well-Being  offers a wide range of health and wellness services, from exceptional medical care and counseling services to recreation classes, safety resources, peer health advocacy, trainings and more.
  • Hall Health and the UW Counseling Center UW Seattle students have access to a range of mental health and counseling support, including individual counseling, group therapy, workshops and crisis services.
  • UW CareLink   employee assistance program provided for PEBB benefits-eligible UW employees, their dependents, and other household members. Initial services are provided at no cost, and the call is toll-free. UW CareLink is available nationwide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
